Believe in Discipline.
When you live with PTSD, staying in a routine is incredibly helpful. Consider waking up and going to bed at the same time each day. Then set up your day to include a consistent workout and mealtime. If you have a family make sure to schedule time for them each day too. And, keep a consistent protected time just for you. Even if it’s the first and last 30 minutes of each day. Along with this consider a time to journal, color, draw, paint or some other artistic outlet to help you manage your symptoms. Protecting your routine will help you to find more peace, trust, strength and discipline in all areas of your life.
Heavenly Father, we want to thank you for reminding us that a routine is incredibly important. It’s one of the first skills most of us learn when we begin school. Speaking of beginnings, Lord, we want to thank you for this beautiful beginning to finding more peace, trust, strength and discipline in our lives. We want to thank you for the reminder that each of us brings our own paintbrush to the world- some of us find peace in painting the entire wall and others of us are strong enough to trust someone else to the coloring while we write. Lol! Seriously, God thank you for teaching us how to protect our time, our talents, and our relationship with you and others.
We encourage you to put your first piece of artwork together today and create a vision board.
Grab a piece of paper or if possible poster board. If you don’t have access to old magazines then print down pictures or write in colorful markers or pen. Cut out pictures that represent the vision that you have for your life. Then glue them onto the board and hang it where you will see it each day.
What do you want your life to look like?
