Just like it is important to have a good understanding of how a piece of equipment works before you can troubleshoot it, I think that it is important to understand what a sound, healthy body looks like before we can begin troubleshooting PTSD.
According to Minnesota State University “overall, wellness is the ability to live life to the fullest and maximize personal potential in a variety of ways.”
Essentially overall wellness is not only about your physical health, but about mental health as well. The difference between our physical makeup and a piece of equipment is that each of us is designed a little differently. What works for one of us may not work for all of us, but overall we should be able to enjoy life and express ourselves in a way that conveys that joy. We should be willing to listen, to be still, to compromise and meet each other with understanding. We might not always agree, but we should attempt to be agreeable.
A healthy body lives with a sense of purpose. It actively engages each day, gets enough sleep, and is well nourished. It is often found with a smile, is welcoming, and interested in supporting others. It is committed to establishing routines that help it to function under stress and work with love.
Each of us are wired just a bit differently from the rest. Consider taking a moment to identify what a healthy mind and body look like to you.
Then pray:
Heavenly Father, thank you so much for bringing us to this place of learning more about our bodies. Thank you for helping us to understand that we are all designed just a bit differently. We look to You, Lord, to provide us with the tools and resources that we need to troubleshoot PTSD and live our life to the fullest. Amen.
Thank you all so much for joining us here. Ya'll have a beautiful day!
All My Love,
Jen
