Lean into PTSD - Day 10 of Prayer

Have you ever paid attention to someone who is having trouble hearing while you are talking? They tend to get closer and closer, then lean in. With all the distractions, it is sometimes hard to listen or clear your mind. Leaning in seems to help minimize the distractions and provides us with space to listen to the one we love.

Speaking of love! One of the most loving gifts God provided us with is His word. While you are leaning in and listening to Jesus, consider reading a Bible verse. Look for words that help encourage you to lean in more, words that help you to know Jesus and God better, words that help you to know that He is there guiding, guarding, and helping you into peace.

Staying in this place with our Lord can sometimes be hard work and a challenge. There are distractions and life events that can pull us away. There can be moments where our peace is so deeply rattled that it can cause us to question or turn away from God. The good news is the more frequently you lean into God the more you appreciate the outcomes. Sometimes nothing changes about the situation, but your perspective and peace.

You can look back and know that you overcame, but more importantly you can typically see where God intervened. Godly interventions can only occur when we give Him time to work. Quietly going about our business, waiting patiently while He works can sometimes be harder than just taking matters into our own hands. When we wait on God though there’s a peace that sets in that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). Though we cannot always see what God is doing, we can trust and know that He is working for our greatest and highest good. This takes a tremendous amount of strength and discipline.

Heavenly Father, thank you for always leaning into us before we even lean into You. Thank you for calling us over and over again into love. Thank you for Your countless blessings. Thank you for helping us to find the strength and discipline to wait on You. Thank you for wrapping us in peace. Thank you for all the gifts that you have given to us. We are forever yours. Amen.

Thank you so much for joining us in prayer. Ya’ll have a beautiful day!

All My Love,

Jen
