We were born with joy inside of us. It is a gift from God. And one of the fruits of the spirit that He desires most for us.
So, how do we find the joy within when we are deeply wounded? Or feel like the world is caving in on us?
The short-answer: continually put yourself in the position to experience joy. Joy comes in all shapes and sizes and in movements that we don’t expect.
Let the light in. Feel the warmth and its invitation into a brighter life. Let your light shine.
Breathe in and feel God lovingly envelope you with His mantle. Invite joy into your life. Sit with her. Stand next to her. Hold her. Love her. Ask her to sit with you awhile. Listen to her while you drink coffee and watch the birds flutter outside. Breathe her in as you write in your journal. Ask her to go on a walk with you and notice all the beauty around you. Love her as if today would be the last day to be with her. Smile with her. Laugh with her. Live in love with her.
Read one passage in the Bible daily.
Say a novena or another suitable prayer.
Pray the Rosary.
Enlist a partner or a few people to assist you on your mission of experiencing joy.
When we are all working towards the same mission it can help to create a strong bond, provide an outlet, and further help to work through symptoms of PTSD.
One of the greatest and simplest forms of sharing joy can be found in giving away love. Stand on your very tippy toes and breathe it in.
Loving Father, thank you so much for helping us to reactivate our joy. Thank you for allowing your light to shine through us and bring beauty to our day. Thank you for helping us learn how to be joyful. Thank you for all the gifts that you have given to us. We are forever yours. Amen.
Thank you so much for joining us in prayer. Ya’ll have a beautiful day!
All My Love,
Jen
