Just as a mosaic artist gently scrubs away the misplaced grout to get a smooth and polished finish, so does God do the same with our hearts.
Healthy decisions could be as simple as rerouting or covering a negative thought with prayer, could be as simple as choosing to say no to a cookie and yes to an apple. It could be going to lay down when your heart starts to hurt instead of just pushing through. It could be simply to make the decision to stop and pray.
Imagine Jesus like a great mosaic artist. First, making the decisions about what colors He will use to fill in the cracks in your heart. Like a kids colorful band aid the colors of your heart can change. He may choose some blues for where you still might be a little sad. A little pink for peace, green for where you have grown, red for places that could use a little love. Whatever colors He chooses is up to Him. Give Him the space and time that He needs to work.
He can move mountains and make miracles happen, but most circumstances require a process. There is a certain amount of scrubbing and color changing we have to go through when we are moving from post-trauma to a life filled with more peace, trust, strength, and discipline.
Take time to make a list this week of places where you may still feel sad and ask God to fill that space with His compassion and love. Pause for a moment to thank Him for all the areas in your life where He has brought you peace and helped you to grow.
Give Him the space that could still use more love. Places where you may still see anger, hostility, or resentment. Places where you still feel your voice raise and your chest tighten.
Then pray:
Heavenly Father, take my heart and make it like Yours. Where there are still cracks, broken moments, and unfulfilled dreams fill them all with Your love. Thank you for being the greatest mosaic artist, for scrubbing away the misplaced emotions, the hurt and trauma. Thank you for smoothing out all the ripples and always working to polish our hearts. Thank you for all the gifts that you have given to us. We are forever yours. Amen.
Thank you so much for joining us in prayer. Ya’ll have a beautiful day!
All My Love,
Jen
