Lean Into PTSD - Day 27 of Prayer

In most circumstances, there is someone always watching you whether it be your significant other, a child, a sibling, a student, a friend or even a stranger. Your actions can have a significant impact on another person sometimes without you even realizing it. Carefully consider this. Work to build a habit of prayer into your day. Be brave enough to pray with someone at work. Kneel down at your bedside or in the living room in your home. Allow your children to find you in prayer and guide them into prayer with you. Pray over your significant other. Invite them on your journey with Jesus.

Begin your day in prayer. Welcome peace and prosperity into your life. Speak love, hope, and joy into all that you do.

Practice this over and over again throughout the day, throughout the week. There are multiple studies that show that we must practice something for seven times before we know or understand it.

So, for seven days in a row for the first seven minutes of your day, be with God. Make Him the priority. The first few days might be easy, but the next few might be a challenge. Set a timer, so that you are not worried about the time. Stay in the moment, stay in the boat with Jesus and just visit with Him. Throw sticks into the water, grab your cane pole and fish together or if you are feeling really adventurous you stand on one end and He stands on another end and try not to flip the boat. God’s pretty adventurous, in case you didn’t know.

In seven days revisit the process and see if you need more than seven minutes. Eventually you will not need a timer. Time with God will just become a natural part of your daily life. It will just become part of who you are. There will be times when you need to sit with Him longer and times where your time together will be interrupted or cut short. Either way God never leaves us. You can recline in peace knowing that He is always there, working.

But, how do you know? Well, you might find a shift in your day. Maybe space in your day opens up leaving more room to focus on your interests, maybe you find and feel more loved. Maybe you no longer hesitate to take a risk or to try something new. Maybe you become more cautious and your spirit more settled. Maybe you lean in a bit more. Maybe you become more loving and compassionate. Maybe you can see God working in even the tiniest moments of your life. Maybe you recognize and truly begin to live the eternal truths God has planned for you. Maybe every time you thirst you turn to Him for His life giving water and strength.

The good news is it doesn’t really matter what you notice or if you notice God working at all, He will still work everything out and He will change your heart in the process. He does not care when you come or how you arrive, just so long as you turn to Him.

God works in mysterious ways to get His point across or to get you stepping in the way He wants you to go. Don’t let me fool you, waiting takes an incredible amount of discipline. It is not easy, nor is it fun. It is both emotionally and physically demanding especially when you are accustomed to moving forward or crossing things off the list. Might you be scared? You bet! Might you be tired? Of course! When there is healing to be done and work accomplished, waiting is hard, but God’s plan is always so much better.

Thank you Lord for being here today and everyday. We are incredibly grateful for the reminder that your plans are far greater than ours. Thank you so much for helping us turn to You again and again to learn more about how to best proceed and to ask for help. Thank you for all the gifts that you have given to us. We are forever yours. Amen.

Thank you so much for joining us in prayer.

Ya’ll have a beautiful day!

All My Love,

Jen
