Lean Into PTSD - Day 28 of Prayer

Our Lord is a great craftsman. Each of us is a gift from Him, a way of making the lives of those around us more beautiful. Some of us bring laughter, some of us joy, some of us stability and consistency, other’s of us compassion, and some of us even a little fun and spontaneity. We are all His, all connected in some way.

He celebrates with us when we celebrate, laughs with us when we laugh, cries with us when we cry, and stands strong for us when we need someone to stand strong. He is our strength in the storm, our greatest cheerleader, and biggest fan.

In the difficult times when He shows up with His strength and comfort, He helps us to persevere and to find the strength to keep going. He wants us to remember that we are created for a purpose and that He is always with us.

When you are healing from a traumatic time in your life it can feel as if you will be sad or broken or healing forever. Sometimes it even looks like you are doing worse from the day before. God never leaves us in the place that He finds us; rather, He helps us to get up and move forward. Go to Him. Celebrate even the smallest steps and victories. Rejoice!

Consider enlisting others to help you. To pray with you. Ask for help or prayer.

Here are some ways that might help:

  1. Confide in a trusted friend or family member first. Sometimes sharing your issues with a friend or close family member is easier than sharing with anyone else. Once you have confided in someone, often it frees you to share with someone else.

  2. Share with a counselor or spiritual advisor. These trained professionals can sometimes point you in the direction of valuable tools and resources. Many times they are able to ask questions that eventually provide helpful and useful information that will remain with you long after your life has been restored. Your trusted friend or family member could even go along with you until you felt you could go on your own.

  3. Go to church and leave a note at the altar, with a saint, or at the foot of the cross. You don’t even have to sign it. God knows who it is from.

  4. Call or submit your name to a prayer line or website where people can pray with you and will continue to hold you in prayer for several days.

Be assured. Believe that God will always come through. It may not be in your timing or in the way in which you thought He would, but He will consistently cover you with everything that you need.

The more you come to know Him the more you will find in Him delight, fulfillment, and a place of security. The more tranquil and quiet your soul will become. When you are at rest He is at rest. When you give Him space in your life to produce, He will produce in ways that you never dreamed possible.

He has the ability to exact change and work in ways others have never dreamed. God is the great creator of the universe- He is, was, and always will be the greatest designer- there is none like Him.

Heavenly Father, thank you so much for helping us to find the strength to reach out and ask for help. Sometimes silence is where you do your best work, Lord. Thank you for molding me into the person that I am today. You have always come through for me and I know you will continue to do it again and again. Thank you for teaching us how to work with heart. Thank you for all the gifts that you have given to us. We are forever yours. Amen.

Thank you so much for joining us in prayer.

Ya’ll have a beautiful day!

All My Love,

Jen
