You know, I always thought that I loved -- like really loved people. And, I believe that I did, but sometimes there would be things that got in the way of that. Sometimes my own wants and needs kept me from truly being able to embrace the other person with their wants and needs. And, while I am still learning to love others - I am falling more and more in love with the person that I am becoming. Not like a conceited kind of love, but an exciting, I can't believe I never saw or knew that about myself kind of love. Maybe maturity or age has something to do with it, but I have noticed that the more I take care of my own needs the easier it is for me to help others take care of their needs.
I am also learning to truly understand that some people are not meant to stay in your life. They are meant to walk with you briefly. They may even come back into your life for brief periods of time, but they are not meant to walk your journey with you. It is wonderful though to have friends who can stick with you through it all.
Learning to love a little deeper, a little more carefully, a little more often can take some work. So, take a moment today to find a quiet place. Contemplate the Bible verse -- it is included on the handout. Consider printing out the handout to complete or keep your thoughts in a journal. You are building resources that you can go back to and pull from when you need it, so do what works best for you.
Enjoy Day 1 of Learning to Love and being on fire for life! Have a beautiful day ya'll!
