Are words more powerful than action? Action more powerful than words? The great debate or at least a favorite essay topic in English classrooms. I think the answer is simple. It depends.
Words like drive and commitment are seemingly insignificant if they are not followed by action. For instance, I am committed to staying here with you and talking this through becomes insignificant if five minutes into the conversation you get into an argument and leave the conversation.
Actions that are filled with anger and create a hostile environment lose their purpose even in the most wonderful of circumstances.
So, let’s take a closer look at the power of words --- specifically positive words.
Consider taking time this week to create a word wall for yourself:
Care. Can. Believe.Hope.Power.Strength.Purpose.Love.Laughter.Light.Sunshine.Rainbows.
These are words that are meant to inspire, meant to motivate, meant to help you to learn and grow. These are words that are meant to be carried in our hearts, our souls, and our minds.
And, most especially these are words that are meant to be felt by our body.
They are meant to fill our body.
Take a moment to sit with your word wall. Close your eyes and envision yourself pouring out hope, pouring out strength, pouring out love and radiating sunshine and rainbows.
