Work. I see you there with your head hanging low and thinking “Man don’t mention it. I would totally like to not be working, be at work, or have to work.” And, boy do I get you!
The fact is life is work. It’s a part of our very being. Spiders work to spin webs. Bees work to gather honey. Cows work to produce milk. Chickens work to lay eggs. Our brain works to help us think. Our heart works to pump blood through our bodies, so that we can work to put food on the table, gas in our cars, and a roof over our head.
In addition, we work to build relationships, lose or gain weight, to break through to one another, and maintain. Constantly we are working.
So, I wonder:
How can we work with joy in our hearts every day? How can we work, and it is not such a drag? How can we work to see or find goodness in all the work that we do?
And, I think the answer is simple.
Follow the process one step at a time. Breathe. Do what you know is right. Allow time for the process to work. Breathe.
You say “Jen, yeah that’s really easy to say. What happens when I have this and this and this, I need to take care of??? And this emergency and that emergency and this problem and that problem to handle???”
Let’s do this one more time:
Breathe. Follow the process one step at a time. Breathe. Do what you know is right. Breathe. Allow time for the process to work. Breathe.
Your joy is coming --- it’s in a beautiful package called your heart. It’s time to take off the bow and start unwrapping your gift one layer at a time. It’s going to take some work and it might even get hurt and you might want to wrap it up and hide it away.
Let’s do this one more time:
Breathe. Follow the process one step at a time. Breathe. Do what you know is right. Breathe. Allow time for the process to work. Breathe. SMILE. And continue moving forward through the open door filled with love, hope, and joy.
